If you want to participate in the Wolfram|Alpha volunteer curation program, you must have a Wolfram ID. If you do not have a Wolfram ID, click "No, Sign me Up!" to create one now. If you already have a Wolfram ID, click "Yes, I have a Wolfram ID" to go to the volunteer application.
Wolfram|Alpha Volunteer Central ("the Site") is a service in which volunteers from around the world may curate data and contribute information to Wolfram|Alpha in order to expand its knowledge base. The Site is made available by Wolfram Alpha, LLC ("Wolfram").
These terms are a contract you must agree to before using the Site. If you are under 18, you may use the Site only if you have permission from a parent, legal guardian, or teacher.
You may use the Site and submit material strictly on a volunteer basis. No monetary compensation will be tied to any submissions. To the extent that a prize or reward may be offered, Wolfram reserves the right to withhold or deny the prize or reward due to ineligibility or for any other reason at Wolfram's discretion.
No anonymous contributions are allowed. You must use your real name when registering for the Site. Upon registering and applying to use the Site, your application will be processed and reviewed by Wolfram. Wolfram reserves the right to reject any application for any reason at Wolfram's discretion.
If your application is approved, you will be able to log in with your Wolfram ID. You may not share your login information with anyone else or allow anyone else to use the Site with your username and password.
You may download this file in Microsoft Excel format. We do not provide you with the software for opening the files; you are responsible for obtaining any necessary software licenses associated with the files with which you choose to work.
Once you download a file, you will have 14 days to work with it. If the time allocated is other than 14 days, it will be specified in the project detail view. If the project is not completed within the allocated time frame, the project will be made available to other volunteers.
By downloading and working with Wolfram's data files, you acknowledge that both the data and database are proprietary information owned by Wolfram and should be treated accordingly. All of the data you gain access to in Wolfram's data files is strictly confidential and should not be shared in any public or private forum whatsoever. You are also forbidden from using the data in any way other than to complete projects for the Site. You may not use the data to start your own database, and you may not discuss the data on any website.
For information on the submission and approval process, please read the Submission Policy carefully. You will be required to agree to its terms before uploading anything to the Site.
Wolfram does not offer any warranty whatsoever with regard to the Site, including, without limitation: (i) that the operation of the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free; (ii)) that defects will be corrected; (iii) that the Site, including content obtained from the Site and the server that makes it available, is free of infections, viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or other harmful components or other code that manifest contaminating or destructive properties; (iv) or as to the suitability, quality, or operation of any content or services provided on or accessible from the Site in any way.
The Site and all content and services included in or accessible from the Site are provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind (express, implied, and statutory, including, but not limited to, the warranties of title and non-infringement and the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, all of which Wolfram expressly disclaims to the fullest extent permitted by law). Your use of the Site is at your sole risk.
In no event shall Wolfram, its directors, officers, shareholders, parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, or licensors be liable for any direct, indirect, special (including loss of revenue or income, pain and suffering, emotional distress, or similar damages), incidental, punitive, or consequential damages arising out of or related to the use, inability to use, authorized use, performance, or nonperformance of the Site, even if Wolfram was previously advised of the possibility of such damages and regardless of whether such damages arise in contract, in tort, under statute, in equity, at law, or otherwise. Some states or other jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.
These Terms of Use will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without giving effect to any principles of conflict of laws. If for any reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision or portion of the Terms of Use to be unenforceable, the remainder of the Terms of Use will continue in full force and effect. Any waiver of any provision of the Terms of Use will be effective only if in writing and signed by Wolfram.
You agree to indemnify and hold Wolfram, its directors, officers, shareholders, parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, and licensors harmless from and against all losses, expenses, damages, and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, resulting from any violation of these Terms of Use, including, without limitation, any use of the Site other than as expressly authorized by these Terms of Use.
